Serves 5; Prep & cook time – about 50 minutes.
- Ingredients – Chicken Burgers:
- 2 lbs – ground chicken
- 1 Bunch Fresh Cilantro – chopped, including half stems
- 2 Tbsp – Lime juice
- 1 Tbsp lime zest
- 1/2 cup – onions, finely chopped
- 2 tsp – garlic powder
- 1 tsp – salt
- 1/2 tsp– ground black pepper
- Ingredients – Turkey Burgers:
- 2 lbs – ground turkey
- 1 15 oz can – garbonzo beans, drained
- 1 cup – panko
- Serving options:
- Salsa – mild, medium, hot – to taste (optional)
- 1/2 Cup – Cilantro, chopped for serving (optional)
- Slider or hamburger buns (optional)
Pre-heat oven to 350F.
For chicken burgers, combine all ingredients in a bowl. Pat into slider or burger size as desired and place on oiled cooking sheet.
For turkey burgers, mash garbonzo beans into a paste (I use knuckles down fist to crush). Add turkey and mix together. Pat into slider or burger size as desired. Then roll each burger onto a bed of panko to coat before placing on an oiled cooking sheet.
Place cooking sheets into oven and bake for 25-40 minutes. Flip burgers at half-way cooked for topside browning. Burgers can optionally be cooked on a stovetop skillet or grilled, but will be a little drier in taste.
